The 100 Best Courses Outside the U.S. 2005 – 19th, Golf Digest
"Since the early days at Beacon Hall where Tom was a valuable assistant and then through our collaborative design at Deerhurst, it was easy to see that Tom was destined for success." – Bob Cupp, Cupp Design
Just north of Toronto, Beacon Hall is an inspired course set upon 260 acres of magnificently varied ground on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Teaming up for the first of two design collaborations, Tom McBroom and Bob Cupp created a classic for the ages. Noted for its two distinctly different nines – the front routed through mature forest and the back through undulating terrain reminiscent of Ballybunion in Ireland – Beacon Hall is perennially ranked among Canada's Top 10 greatest courses. The strength of Beacon Hall is its imaginative collection of 18 stunning holes that are as varied and as strategically inspired as any course in the world.
