Best New Canadian Course 1998 – Golf Digest

"...one can't help thinking that McBroom has enough talent (and enough confidence) to experiment with a wide range of architectural styles and notions on nearly every project he tackles." – Ron Whitten, Golf Digest

Bell Bay was designed to optimize the beautiful views of picturesque Bras d'Or Lake in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and to firmly establish the hamlet of Baddeck as a golf destination. Bell Bay was a town initiative financed by several local business people. Skillfully blended into a sloping hillside overlooking the town, Bell Bay exudes a classic, timeless feel and features traditional dimensions that accentuate the scenic vistas and the golfer's appreciation for the natural beauty of the land. The front nine is generally open and scenic, while the back slips into heavily forested, wilder terrain. Bell Bay is notable for the final four holes, which build to a climatic finish. Site of the 2005 Canadian Amateur championship, Bell Bay endures as one of Canada's most loved and admired courses.
