Crafted on a site bounding with bold contours and natural wetlands in the late 1980s, Heron Point is unique and one of the most challenging courses in Canada. Highly regarded by elite amateurs and professionals, it was the long-time home of the Canadian Masters on the country's professional golf tour. Heron Point offers a strong mix of heathland and parkland styles punctuated by greens both subtle and devilish. The opening holes meander through meadows and rolling hills that define southern Ontario countryside before giving way to links-style holes framed by fescue and broad-shouldered valleys. The par 3 eighth and 13th holes sport a lowland Carolinian look with beautiful wetlands crossed by curving wooden bridges. Heron Point is also renowned for its thrilling finishing stretch. One of Canada's most famous closing holes, the 18th demands a heroic tee shot over a lake to an angled fairway leading to a sloping green perched on the clubhouse hill. Heron Point is a Canadian Classic.
