In putting new gloss on an old favourite, Tom McBroom incorporated modern design elements to Langara so that it plays and looks great without sacrificing its cherished traditional look and feel. McBroom's first course for the Vancouver Parks Board, Langara was a complete re-configuration of the original design. To bolster the challenge of this relatively short 6,500-yard, par 71 course, McBroom enlivened the greens with bold and interesting contours and created an invigorating mix of holes. He also improved tees and infrastructure to keep Langara in great condition for the more than 70,000 rounds played there annually. Langara is highly regarded for its playability and as a great walking course.
