A bold Tom McBroom restoration completed in1993 reconfirmed Ottawa Hunt as one of Canada's classic parkland courses. A key to the restoration of the 70-year-old, Willie Park Jr. masterpiece was providing the greens with new bold contours to strengthen the shot values and improve drainage. McBroom added dramatic, steep-faced bunkers to enhance the strategic value of the holes, and created undulating fairways to add definition and difficulty. McBroom also designed a new third nine that was interwoven with the existing 18 holes providing a seamless 27-hole masterpiece. The Ottawa Hunt played host to the du Maurier Classic in 1994, formerly a major championship on the LPGA Tour.
