It was only a matter of time until Thunder Bay on Lake Superior's rugged north shore was ready for a Tom McBroom golf course. In designing a delightful 27-hole routing, McBroom took maximum advantage of the glorious property in the beautiful Kaministiquia River valley with its stunning mix of distant mountain views, rugged cliffs and ravines. With holes that flow together seamlessly, Whitewater is a wonderful walking course. There is a sense of seclusion and wonder at Whitewater, a feeling that is often missed at more southerly courses. McBroom has also designed a stunning, third nine at the property's north end that will open in 2007. Distinctly different from the first 18 and named the Sand Barrens, the third nine is designed through massive pine-strewn sand cliffs.
